research

I researched existing building firms logos. I found that a lot of them can be quite cartoonish, a design i know i don't want create as i want a more professional feel for the company, as it has been in business for around 60 years. i feel a strong professional logo is something that is important as it will represent experienced yet friendly contractors.

client brief

i decided to choose a local building firm for my client brief. i know the owner of the company personally and know i could work well with them. their logo isn't the worst but it is in need of an update.

final design

here is my final logo design put into use, a letterhead, compliment slip and business card

re-work

I wasnt happy with my logo design at all. i didnt think it was unique or professional and it didnt reflect my personality so i tried again and this time tried a more personal design.

when i sign my name i write my name 'A' almost like a star, so i thought this would be a strong logo and icon.

development

From sketching my name and playing about with my initials i initially thought i wanted some modern and simple. i came up with these two drafts but wasnt 100% on either of them. i decided to play about with the second one to see if i could make this more interesting.

Personal Logo

In graphic design we were set the task to design our own personal logos. I started off by simply drawing and writing out my signature over and over again to see if i came up with any shapes, lines or patterns that i liked.

I then researched logos on pinterest and picked out a few that i liked.
